Für verwandte Verarbeitungstätigkeiten kann eine DSFA-Erforderlichkeitsprüfung oder eine DSFA gelten. Dies ist dann der Fall, wenn die VTs ein ähnliches Risiko adressieren. Daher besteht die Möglichkeit bei den Überprüfungsdetails mehrere Verarbeitungstätigkeiten mit der DSFA zu verknüpfen. Die als "Haupt VT" gekennzeichnete Verarbeitungstätigkeit ist jene Basis, von der HITGuard in den DSFA-Schritten des Assistenten die erfassten Informationen aus der VT (z.B. Datenkategorien, verwendete Betriebsmittel etc.) heranzieht.
