TOMs are technical and organizational measures or controls that have been created for the handling of personal data. These measures and controls must be assigned to the technical and organizational measures or controls under "Data protection → TOMs" so that they can be identified in a notification of a processing activity to authorities.

Note:

There are general TOMs that apply to each processing activity. You can find these under "Data protection → TOMs" as well as assign new measures and controls and thus define them as TOMs.
Specific TOMs are technical and organizational measures and controls to be implemented specifically for a select processing activity. You assign these directly to the processing activities.

Only data protection experts and professionals can manage the general TOMs under "Data protection → TOMs".
